Our Story

Pupusas de la Reina began as a small family business started by a mother and her sons, sharing homemade pupusas from a modest third-floor apartment with neighbors and local businesses. The warm support from the community inspired us to grow into a pop-up tent on Nogales Street in West Covina, where we served our specialties three days a week.

After more than two years of hard work and dedication, we opened our permanent restaurant, where we now serve authentic Salvadoran pupusas, wholesome meals, and traditional snacks in West Covina near La Puente.

A Place for Community and Connection

Pupusas de la Reina is more than a Salvadoran restaurant, it is a place where family, friends, and neighbors come together over fresh, comforting food. We believe food brings people closer, and that spirit is reflected in every dish we serve. Located in West Covina, we invite our guests from La Puente, Walnut, Hacienda Heights, Rowland Heights, and surrounding areas to enjoy authentic Salvadoran food in a warm and welcoming space.

Authentic Flavors, Fresh Ingredients

Our menu is inspired by the Salvadoran traditions we grew up with, featuring fresh masa, flavorful fillings, and handmade curtido prepared with care. We use fresh ingredients to ensure every pupusa, breakfast plate, lunch special, and snack is made with the same attention and love as the food we prepare for our own family. Our goal has always been to preserve the authentic flavors of El Salvador and share them with our community here in Southern California.
